BalmyBits are BalmyTrip's loyalty currency. You earn them by referring friends, completing trips, submitting reviews and feedback, and reporting bugs. BalmyBits live in your BalmyTrip wallet and can be redeemed against future bookings.

shield5. Fair Use Policy
To maintain the integrity of the BalmyBits programme, the following rules are strictly enforced. Violations may result in BalmyBits forfeiture, account suspension, or legal action.
No self-referral. You cannot refer yourself, use your own referral code, or create multiple accounts to earn referral rewards.
Feedback limit: Your BalmyTrip account must be at least 7 days old to submit UI/UX feedback. Maximum 2 approved submissions per month. All feedback is admin-reviewed before BalmyBits are credited.
Bug bounty admin-only approval. Bug report rewards are credited only after review and approval by the BalmyTrip security team.
BalmyBits only on trip completion. Referral and trip-completion BalmyBits are credited only after the trip is completed (auto 3 days after trip end date, provided the booking is not cancelled).
One review claim per user. The Google review bonus (200 BalmyBits) can be claimed only once per lifetime per user.
36-month expiry. BalmyBits expire 36 months from the date they are earned. Expired BalmyBits cannot be restored.
Unique verified phone per account. Each BalmyTrip account must be linked to a unique, verified phone number. Duplicate phone numbers across accounts will be flagged.
Atomic redemption. BalmyBits redemptions are processed atomically to prevent race conditions and double-spend. If a transaction fails, BalmyBits are returned to your wallet.
Rate limiting on code validation. Referral code lookups and validations are rate-limited to prevent brute-force enumeration.
Server-side attribution. Referral attribution is determined server-side. Cookie tampering, URL parameter manipulation, or client-side injection will not affect attribution.
Discount on base package price only. BalmyBits discounts apply to the base package price. Add-ons, taxes, visa fees, and premium activity surcharges are excluded.
Chargeback → account freeze. If a chargeback or payment dispute is filed on a booking where BalmyBits were redeemed, the account will be frozen pending investigation and BalmyBits may be forfeited.
Guide attribution requires real chat + different user. Guide booking attribution rewards are only credited when there is a verified chat conversation between the guide and a different user (not the guide themselves).
Trip completion definition. A trip is considered "completed" automatically 3 days after the trip end date, provided the booking is not cancelled.
Welcome bonus once per lifetime. The 250 BalmyBits welcome bonus for referred users is credited only once — on their first trip completion. Subsequent referrals of the same user do not trigger another welcome bonus.
Account security responsibility. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your BalmyTrip account credentials. BalmyTrip is not liable for any unauthorised redemption of BalmyBits resulting from compromised account access.
undo6. Refund, Cancellation & Force Majeure
Complete Booking Cancellation
- check_circleCash refund: The cash portion of the payment is refunded as per the standard cancellation policy and vendor timelines.
- check_circleBalmyBits returned: The exact number of BalmyBits redeemed for that booking will be returned to your wallet.
- warningEarned BalmyBits clawed back: ALL BalmyBits earned from that booking (trip completion, booking percentage, referral rewards) are reversed and deducted from your wallet.
- warningReferral on cancelled booking: If the referred user cancels their trip before completion, no referral BalmyBits are credited to the referrer.
Partial Cancellation
- infoIf a component within a bundled holiday package (flight, hotel, activity) is cancelled, standard vendor cancellation penalties apply to the cash portion.
- infoRedeemed BalmyBits remain applied to the remaining components, provided the revised booking value does not drop below ₹10,000.
- infoIf the total package value drops below ₹10,000 after partial cancellation, the BalmyBits discount becomes ineligible. All redeemed BalmyBits will be returned to your wallet and the remaining balance must be paid in cash.
Force Majeure (Acts of God)
In the event of a trip cancellation caused by Force Majeure — including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, government travel mandates, war, civil unrest, strikes, or airline insolvency — BalmyTrip will process the cash refund based strictly on third-party vendor policies. 100% of the redeemed BalmyBits used for that booking will be safely returned to your wallet. No cash compensation or alternative liquidity will be provided for the BalmyBits portion under any circumstances.
receipt_long7. Tax, Legal & Liability
- check_circleGST calculation: In compliance with Indian tax laws, GST is calculated solely on the final booking price after the BalmyBits discount has been applied. The discounted value is not subject to GST.
- check_circleTCS (Tax Collected at Source): In accordance with Indian tax laws effective 1st April 2026, overseas tour packages attract a flat 2% TCS from the first rupee with no minimum threshold. TCS is computed on the final net payable cash amount after the BalmyBits discount has been applied.
- check_circleNo cash value: BalmyBits have no cash value and cannot be exchanged, transferred, sold, or converted to currency under any circumstances.
- check_circleProgramme modification: BalmyTrip Holidays Private Limited reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the BalmyBits programme at any time with reasonable notice.
- check_circleLimitation of liability: BalmyTrip shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the BalmyBits programme, including system outages, database issues, technical glitches, or forced programme termination. Our maximum liability in any event shall be strictly limited to the nominal value of the specific disputed BalmyBits.
- check_circleSole discretion: BalmyTrip reserves the sole and absolute discretion to determine what constitutes fraudulent activity, system abuse, or a violation of this Fair Use Policy. BalmyTrip's decision in all such internal investigations shall be final, binding, and unappealable.
- check_circleGoverning law & jurisdiction: This loyalty programme and these terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any legal disputes arising out of or in connection with the BalmyBits programme shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Pune, Maharashtra and Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India.
